their communities.We are looking for a Director of Billing to join
our team! This role involves managing the daily operations of the
billing department, supervising staff to ensure accurate billing
processing, and overseeing the implementation of policies and
procedures to support agency billing.The Director of Billing will
oversee the documentation of billing procedures, processes, and
payer contacts for New Hampshire and Vermont. This includes
designing or redesigning systems, implementing new practices,
establishing billing policies and procedures, and supervising the
billing department staff to ensure timely bill processing,
collection of receivables, and cash projection for all programs
across both states. Additional responsibilities include:
- Provide routine analytical reporting to the Chief Financial
Officer and SVP, Controller on cash flow forecasting, AR
allowances, AR turnover, Write-offs, and other reports as required
to assess AR financial health.
- In partnership with Program leaders and managers, coordinate
efforts to establish relevant policies and procedures to ensure
receipt of all necessary billing source documents for the
processing of clean, timely claims.
- Perform in-service training sessions for Agency providers to
promote efficient and effective pre-billing efforts. Facilitate
training of Agency staff to use patient account software to perform
basic or limited inquiries.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships between billing staff and
program managers to enhance collections and address discrepancies
concerning program revenue data or patient account data. Oversee
the approval of write-offs, collection placements to outside
agencies, and account adjustments including sales adjustments,
refunds, revenue reversals, and free service transfers.
- Develop and continue to cultivate external relationships to
obtain a thorough knowledge of payer disbursement procedures and
requirements for the purpose of enhancing current organizational
processes and cash flows.
- Lead the billing department's customer service initiatives and
create a culture of support and excellence to respond to inquiries
as quickly as possible including meeting the reporting needs of
program managers and the maintenance of client account
confidentiality.
- Guide the billing department through system integrations, such
as electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records
(EHR) design, implementation, and software updates by being the
subject matter expert.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and nine (9) years experience
in health care billing, Bachelor's degree and five (5) years
experience in health care billing preferred.
- Knowledge of varied billing requirements for public and private
payers relating to the billing and collection activities of a
multi-state, multi-provider institution.
- Experience supervising staff in a complex, high volume,
automated, medical billing office.
- Evaluate, redesign and implement systems to enhance services
and generate efficiencies.
- Work independently, think creatively, and possess strong
communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Proficiency with PCs and PC spreadsheets, database concepts and
report writer packages.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Hours: This
is a full-time, exempt-level position.Compensation: Starting at
$87,500 annually, with additional compensation based upon
